Naomi Freier Interiors.

When I saw Naomi's Portfolio I felt floored with inspiration! Everything is a perfect combination, from the colors to textiles and choice of furniture. WOW, I'm just amazing by it all and could just throw out all the hard work I ever did in exchange for her decor!

ps don't be surprised if all of a sudden my home looks like this.... hah... I want and love everything.

I've been cheating and been cheap.

I've been cheating... and been cheap... with my candles. I buy really expensive candles and they usually come in really amazing glass ware like this. Well I've learned you can buy wicks at Joanns and have been melting down my old ikea candle and refilling them! I bought an old metal coffee pot at good will and melt it on the stove. I also stick my glassware (WITHOUT METAL IN IT) in the microwave to let the old wax settle at the bottom nicely and wipe off the ugly rim wax.

*Don't forget the old wicks have a metal base, I learned that the hard way.

and yes, I still buy expensive candles but, then I get excited to re-use them now. I wish I didn't throw some out a while ago!

PS *random...
I also really love this ornament idea from project nursery!

Feed back please.

First, I've come across the idea to make upholstered headboards out of vintage headboards like this...

What do you guys think?

yes... no...?

I also found a campaign desk. The lines aren't quiet like this but, this is my inspiration color. I want to lacquer it a kelly or hunter green. JUST. LIKE. THIS.

ahhhhhhh..... so stunnnnnnning....

I've also had the idea of doing it bright white and staging it with a ghost chair, lamb skin and a couple geo book ends... BUT I do everything white.

Help me make the jump!

Drive me crazy in a good way.

I just adore the fun pops of color and striped in this room

Holy heaven interiors. This is a dream bed for me... What is that fabric Quadrille, Anyone know?
The ikat pillow is a fun bohemian element to the room and the classy bench drives me crazy... in a good good way.

The horn side table... the pillows... and contrast of beautiful wood... love.

 I just love that dragon.

This is a wonderful twin room. So modern yet simple. It's quite amazing how much that rug pops

Patone

Christmas is around the corner, I love decorating the house, but sometimes the red, green and shiney stuff makeit a bit too cheesy. I came across these Christmas balls from Pantone, the color specialist Pantone Universe, and they come in many diferent colors. They are made of glass and they are available at Seletti design. Nice right?

Before and After's. After the weekend.

I hope everyone had a long and restful weekend! My thanksgiving was absolutely the best, spent with family of coarse. The rest of my time was spent deep cleaning my home and getting it ready for the holidays. I also was able to finish some projects that you can you check out over at my shop.

Inspiration.

Images that have inspired me to make furniture for the shop:

A grey dresser with chrome knobs and a mirrored top.

A peacock blue/green dresser with fancy gold hardware

I want to find the right china cabinet to put KWID wallpaper in

My new project!

This is a beauty I picked up last night and I'm prepping it for it's make over today. One word:

Lacquer White

Other happenings on the home front. The fabric I was going to make my stockings out of, the imperial trellis alternative. Well, it's not selling anymore. Just my luck. I'm looking at other options but, I feel very "stuck" on that so much I considered buying some real stuff to get the job done.

I have loved the new catalogue of Dwell studio, here are some images to make you want it too!

How to: Remove Hardware From A Campaign Dresser.

Painting these with the hardware on can be tedious so I wanted to show you the proper way to pry the hardware off. Using a very small flat head screw driver wedge in from an opening from the bottom. You never want to work it from the top because you don't want to dent the most visible surface. Use a lever motion and they should pop out pretty easily. Do not loose them! they are hard to find and in the same metal sheen.

Do not pry from the ends of the "T" you will have to hammer the metal flat again if you do.

Sometimes, like on this dresser I removed all of them except for one! So if only a couple is making you pry a little harder and you feel you may bend it to hard. Leave it alone knowing you got most off and tape this puppy.
