VIDEO | This is how I spent my weekend in Taipei

Here with another video, don't worry I'll be posting outfit pictures soon as well. But last weekend was filled with cultural activities, so you can imagine how much I filmed and I had to put in a video of course.

I visited three cultural attractions. First one is the 'National Palace Museum'. This museum was filled with all kinds of historic scriptures, ornaments and art from wayyy back. First let me give you my backstory. I know absolutely nothing about the history of Taiwan, which is shameful I know. So when I got there I was kinda lost. I was seeing all this old ornaments without really knowing what it's about and the museum was packed. And I mean really packed. There were probably 10 tour groups at a time. So walking around at your own pace was quite difficult. There was this area about an emperor ordering frenchmen to make copper plates which really blew my mind. You could watch a short (not really though it was about 45min and without sound) film about how art played an important role in eternalising accomplishments of emperors at that time. And how France was important to them. This suddenly made me realise how real this was. How much history everything had. So my time there was quite pleasant.

Second thing was the Chiang Kai Sheik Shilin Residences. This place was packed as well. As the previous attraction, I didn't really know much about the place. I went there with a family whom I'm acquainted to (to make it short) and she told me several things about the place, which I guess is pretty important for Taiwanese people. We went to see the flower garden. It was supposedly the last weekend that they'll be exhibited. So we went there. The flowers weren't that spectaculair, but it's quite nice to see a bit of nature and green. I was more interested in the buildings and people there actually.

My favourite cultural activity, which you probably can guess already was the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. It was a really last minute thing to go to. I was just browsing in my LonelyPlanet guidebook and after I saw it, I was at that place within 45 minutes (roughly). I went there with a purpose to visit the Taiwan Design Museum and (if I could make it) the Red Dot Museum. The museums were situated in an old tobacco factory, which made the inside kinda industrial and interesting. There was this Deutsch Design exhibit and European Design at the (International part) of the museum, which was fine but I've seen it quite often already. You could see some stuff for Braun and Alessi, nothing I haven't seen already. Which was a bummer but nothing I can do about. Other designs were interesting though. I don't know if I've missed anything, but I was done looking around after an hour, so I went outside and walked around the area a bit and saw this other exhibit by GQ. This was most definitely my favourite. It was interesting and inspiring. It reminded me a bit of the 'Kunsthal' at Rotterdam. It was about dreaming big and having the courage to do so. I didn't want it to be a long post, which it already is. But I wanted to expand on my experience of this particular exhibition in an other post.

I like the way the video turned out. I think this is more up in my alley than the vloggy type of videos. I'm just still so awkward on video. I'll learn in time though. Let me know what you think of the video in the comments below.

GRWM + TALK | First week in Taipei

Say whaaattt? Another post? I thought it would be nice to sit down and talk to you guys a bit about my first impressions and findings in the first week in Taipei. So I filmed a Get Ready With Me video while blabbering about random stuff. Stuff about Taiwanese people, Food, MRT system and having a Chinese name. Not exactly how I wanted this video to be, but practice makes perfect right? Enjoy this video! And let me know your thoughts on this video in the comments below :)

OOTD | Hello new pants!

Hi guys! I'm back with an outfit of the day! I'm slowly getting used to everything here in Taipei and starting to feel a bit more myself. My parents aren't here anymore so I'm by myself from now on, which means more time to take outfit pictures! I bought this uber cute pants on sale at Forever21 here in Taipei. it was 475NT which is approximately €13, such a deal! I decided to wear more patterns in my outfits and I think this is a good start. It's quite chilly in Taipei so I'm wearing my leather jacket today. I planned to walk around a bit around the neighbourhood and around my uni.

What do you think of this outfit?

Quick update | Taiwan winter essentials

I've been 'living' in Taipei for almost a week now and I say 'living' in between quotations because up until now it just feels like going on a holiday. In case you haven't seen my latest vlog, I was travelling to Taiwan with my parents. I'm 23 years old and my parents still worry over me, so that's why they wanted to join me for a few days first. I've been busy with arranging school, getting a bank account and getting a Taiwanese phone number. I've also been exploring the neighbourhood, the metro system and visited some night markets. In the next vlog I'll be talking to you about my first impressions and show you a bit of Taipei. In the upcoming days I'm a free agent and will be able to do this vlog!

But first. I thought it would be fun on my thoughts on how to dress for Taipei in the winter season.
The weather is nothing like in the Netherlands.. at least for what I'm experiencing at this moment. The weather in the afternoon is hot but still windy and sometimes even rainy.

So this Rains raincoat is perfect for the weather in Taipei. The material of this raincoat is light, so it doesn't get too hot but still manage to break the wind and shelter you from the rain. I'm so happy I got this eventually over the ones from Stutterheim which I was dying to have. Another thing I have been into lately is wearing a plain black cap. I just think it makes the outfit a tat more interesting and it will help me through the rain as well.
As I'll be going to school, this leather laptopbag is a musthave. I think the model is classic and timeless. I think it will suit with any outfit. I found this one from Burkely at marington.nl. They have other classic and timeless designs on the website. They are a bit pricey but for genuine quality leather it's okay to splurge sometimes.
Even though I know I can walk on my trusty ankleboots which I've been wearing non stop back in the Netherlands, it is so much better wearing sneakers around in Taipei. You'll be walking a lot even when you're planning to take the MRT, you'll find yourself walking more than you think. And it's so much easier when you have to take the stairs etc.
Another thing you must have is a camera. You'd want to take pictures. There's always something interesting to capture on film. May it be the people, food (almost everytime it's the food) or just the streets of Taipei, you'll regret not taking it with you. I must admit I've been lazy to grab my camera when I see a great opportunity to do so, because I'm thinking myself I'll be here for a while, I can take the shot another time. But be honest, you won't do so till it's too late. Or the lightning or the moment isn't right anymore. So don't hesitate to take the shot! This is also a reminder for me.

What do you think of my musthaves?

TAIWAN VLOG #1 | On my way to Taipei

I'm having some trouble with jet lag, which is a bad thing cause I have to be up early but a good thing since I can finish my first Taiwan vlog... Which isn't really about being in Taiwan but more about travelling to.

Couple of thoughts that went through my mind since I've arrived;
1. It's hot (I've been told that it's going to be cold, despite the weather forecasts)
2. Don't get run over by cars/bikes
3. Foodies!
4. I wish everyone just assume I can't speak Mandarin, so I won't have to embarrass myself first
5. How much is it in euros?
6. So cheap!
7. I wish I had a film crew

I'm now at my second night in Taipei and it still feels like I'm just on a holiday.

See you in the next vlog!

Freedom Pro Brow Pomade Dark Brown

Freedom Pro Brow Pomade Dark Brown

Hi all and welcome back to my blog or if you are new then hi my name is Vinny. If you are already a follower then thanks but if not then pls follow via google friends connect or bloglovin as it means the world to me,and thanks to all my new followers too ♥♥

So as you can see this is a quick review of the new brow pomade by Freedom Makeup. They do a whole range of different colours to suit most hair colours i think to be honest.
My Superdrug doesn't sell Freedom and I'm not sure that you can swatch them anyway? so i took a stab in the dark and bought dark brown because i have black hair. This colour for me is still very very dark even with black hair but it is just about right i think as i like bolder brows anyway.
I prob could get away with medium brown too but this is fine.

Here is the swatch of it on my hand and don't forget this was with my finger and you will be using a brush so a bit different.

The consistency is very very creamy which is gorgeous, you can use any brush that feels right for you and is the shape you like.
Don't go on too dark and just start off with a light hand as if you slap too much on it can look a bit funny, takes practise and I'm stick actually practising, but i think i have pretty much mastered it now.

I am getting a great defined arched shape using this and once applied i leave to dry while doing the rest of my makeup,as this is just like a cream that dries on your brows. So then after about 5 mins i brush through lightly with a brow brush so they are not as dark and harsh and hey presto you are good to go.

This costs only £5.00 and i would buy it over and over again,i love this so much,it's fantastic for the price and having defined brows gives you a little more confidence :)
You can get this from the Freedom website >>>Here<<<
or the Superdrug website >>>Here<<<

do you have this or do you need to get your brows on fleek? then why not give it a try?

Glamour Cafe Frankfurt 2015

Hello my dears, it's high time for a new post! And its going to be literally "glamorous" (ღ˘⌣˘áƒ¦)! On last Saturday i was invited to the Glamour Cafe Girls Brunch powered by Moët & Chandon together with with Nastasja from Vitaesse, a dear friend and blogger colleague. The Glamour Cafe is touring as a pop-up cafe and showroom through Hamburg, Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich. The Glamour Cafe series slogan is: Eat. Shop. Enjoy.

Shop. Enjoy.

these two atmosphere / location photographs above were shot by © Glamour
The Glamour Cafe related showroom was located inside the MyZeil shopping center - near the exit in the direction of Thurn & Taxis Palais. Beyond that you could have had the opportunity to join in several workshops and events throughout the whole day from Thursday to Friday. Keeping up an eye on time, we were pretty happy to be able to attend the Girls Brunch on a last-minute base (and still keeping in mind that after all the the opening party for Frankfurt on Thursday had to be cancelled)

The Girls Brunch powered by Moët & Chandon took place at Frohsein Restaurant which is located inside the Thurn & Taxis Palais building. If you are following me on Instagram you might have noticed that we called it Froh-"sinn" instead of its actual correct name Froh-"sein". Obviously they changed the name recently, since they were a lot of older tags about that restaurant location with the other name. If you take a closer look to my Instagram post with the fresh fruits they served for the Girls Brunch, you can see the actual restaurant name written on the window front. Nastasja and me shared a four persons table together with Maika and Stephanie(*⌒-⌒*). Here you can see some impressions of the Girls Brunch, including delicious food photography which not only food bloggers might enjoy looking at (´∪`*).

At this point many thanks heading to Christina from Glamour Germany for being invited, and of course many thanks to my photography support aka blogger colleague Nastasja from Vitaesse who accompanied me, for a delightful Saturday morning at, by and with Glamour Germany & Moët & Chandon (●^ー^●).

This would make such a lovely gift or to just treat yourself to,the colours are divine and last really well on my lips actually, they are not too creamy not too matte so just about right and very very pigmented for £1.00,that is just so crazy.

OOTD | Last week before leaving

As I was curling my hair with a curling iron in sections, I decided to like this look. So I'm rocking the 'half up knot wavy like a surfer dude' hair. This is also my last week in the Netherlands for a while, so my schedule of meeting (mainly eating) with friends before leaving is quite tight but really nice to spend some time with them. I've been spending money as well on last minute stuff I think I need for in Taiwan. And I still need to pack.. Seriously I have been watching Youtube videos on how to pack, but still am not moving my ass. About my outfit, I felt like wearing black. To make it not too goth, I wore this electric blue jacket I got from the Calvin Klein sample sale. It makes the outfit look less boring.. I hope. That's it for now!

Freedom Makeup Pro Contour Shaped Stick Medium 01 Review

Freedom Makeup Pro Contour Shaped Stick Medium 01 Review

Hi all and welcome back to my blog or if you are new then hi my name is Vinny. If you are already a follower then thanks but if not then pls follow via google friends connect or bloglovin as it means the world to me,and thanks to all my new followers too ♥♥

Hi there here is a quick review on the new freedom Makeup Pro Contour stick in medium.
This is a dupe for the nyx one i would say, this is only £5.00 on the freedom Makeup website and you will find it >>>Here<<<
Also available on the Superdrug website and you will find that here too >>>Here<<<

As you can see they do this in 3 shades and when i first swatched it on my hand i was worried it would be too orange toned.

But no it was not too orange at all,it is just about perfect and a nice colour even for my pale skin,i love the creamy texture to this, the highlight works a treat and if like me you are a beginner with cream contour then this is ideal to get some practise in :)

This is a fantastic shape, wish it was either slightly longer or thicker maybe as i don't think it would last for ages, saying that i wouldn't use this everyday,it's very blendable and here i am in my camo war paint lol....

I put this over my foundation but before powder and it was really easy to work with as the shape is fab,you can use a brush or your fingers,so whatever feels best for you.

This is me after my makeup was done in the bathroom where i get the most light,as you can see it is not orange at all,i have not gone overboard and it looks pretty good if i do say so myself :)

I think it's cheap and works really well,it's really handy for travel too if you don't want to take a big contour palette then this is the ideal thing for you.
Do you own this or are you wanting to try it? would love to hear your thoughts.

thanks so much for reading and thanks to freedom Makeup for the blogger Pr sample.

Love always littlemissstyleguru aka Vinny ♥

PERSONAL | I am not a label

Usually I don't post about these kind of topics but I felt it was important to me enough to share it with you guys. Enough about that famous instagram model, who I've never heard about before she supposedly revealed social media secrets.. Talk about what really matters. I leave my thought about that matter in another post maybe. What I really want to talk about is this video I've stumbled upon on Facebook. You know when something just clicked. You just keep nodding your head because you completely agree with anything that's been said. This is what Prince Ea did to me with this video about 'labelling people'. It's something that's been bothering me a while.

I hate it when people have this prejudice against a certain label. Like when people ask me if I eat rice everyday because I'm Asian, I mean would that person be asking that if I was a caucasian? But what I hate the most are people who pity themselves for being a certain label. They feel offended for every criticism they get and blame it on their 'label'.  There was this interview about a new movie, the 'white' producer said to the 'black' interviewer that it was important to have a diverse cast for the movie but not necessarily in the crew. As you would've guessed. People were all going mad about what he had said. The interviewer responded with "Wow, ok", was clearly offended and people on twitter were already bashing on him. But if you listen closely and just let him explain a bit more, it's actually logical. You shouldn't base your crew upon racial diversity, but you should base it on skill. Who wouldn't want to have the best director or scriptwriter regardless of their race. The only thing that needs to be considered is to give everyone a chance to apply for the job.
People get so easily offended and are so touchy about their labels that it's sometimes hard to reason with them.

At first I couldn't put my annoyance into place. But after watching this, it suddenly was all clear to me. It's the labels! I hate being, using labels or even thinking in labels. It's hard not to do so, because we are already so used to it that it's almost impossible not to. Almost, which is why this message is so important. Labels won't go away within a decade, but as cheesy as it sounds, it all starts with changing yourself first. It won't be easy and probably something to easy forget. But try to remember before you judge someone, is it because of their own 'me' or is it because of their 'label'. Or just repeat this video over and over again so you'll be reminded. Seriously though this video is on point.

Imagine what great things will arise if we put labels behind us.

If there were no labels to hold us back. No label to define us.

What do you think of this message?

Freedom Makeup Pro Powder Strobe Palette Review & Swatches

Freedom Makeup Pro Powder Strobe Palette Review & Swatches

Hi all and welcome back to my blog or if you are new then hi my name is Vinny. If you are already a follower then thanks but if not then pls follow via google friends connect or bloglovin as it means the world to me,and thanks to all my new followers too ♥♥

So this is  review on the beautiful New release from freedom Makeup called the Pro Strobe Powder palette.
This set contains 2 matte highlight powders and 1 shimmer then 3 matte contour bronzer powders, plus the gorgeous brush too.
For only £10 this is a complete bargain.
They are always having deals as at the moment it is 3 for 2 mix and match on all makeup,so don't miss out.
Here is the link to this product...

They also do a similar one to this but in a cream not powder,so if you would like to see that i have done a review and swatches here....

So back to the palette in question, this comes housed in sturdy black packaging with a full size mirror,i have swatched the powders next to the window in daylight to give you the true colours...

As you can see from the first two swatches they are a lovely light highlight colour and the end one on top row is the shimmer highlight which is great to use as strobe or to highlight cheek bones and any other area's you want to add shimmer.
The bottom three colours are different shades of matte brown.
These colours are ideal for me and i think i prefer this palette to the cream as the colours are better for me although the cream has fantastic highlight shades so it's hard to choose really.
These can be used to contour and as bronzer.

On the box you will see a diagram of where to highlight and the shade names too.
This comes with the most soft cutest brush ever,i really love the brush it's an ideal shape to highlight and contour.

The brush is really well made, just look at how soft these bristles are,and all cruelty free too :)

So i would certainly give this palette a huge 10/10 for price, packaging and texture, colour and quality.
I would certainly purchase this again,it's ideal for home use or even to add to mua's kit.

This is also available on the Superdrug website and in some very lucky superdrug stores too, link to Superdrug is below...

Do you own any of these strobe palette? if so then which one would you buy, this powder one or the cream one on my other post? or would you buy both :)

Thanks ever so much for reading,if you love Makeup Revolution and Freedom Makeup as much as me then please come and join our facebook fan page and give it a like, come and share your thoughts, blogs, photos, youtube videos on either brand,or just come for a chat, thanks ♥♥

Makeup Revolution DGJ Organics Haircare Shampoo Conditiner Organic Range

Makeup Revolution DGJ Organics Haircare Shampoo Conditioner Organic Range

Hi all and welcome back to my blog or if you are new then hi my name is Vinny. If you are already a follower then thanks but if not then pls follow via google friends connect or bloglovin as it means the world to me,and thanks to all my new followers too ♥♥

So here we have a review of the new Makeup Revolution haircare range.
Yes first it was makeup then Skincare,you might see in the background the other MUR skincare products called FaceB4 which are fab also,but now they have branched out into haircare,and it's an organic haircare range {even better}

This is called DGJ and it was originally developed by hairdresser Daniel Galvin Junior 10 years ago when there were no Organic haircare products available and the same formula is in them today which makes this product outstanding.
I received a shampoo and conditioner in 250ml bottles.
The scent is honeydew and melon which is honestly gorgeous as i love the smell of melon,it's so refreshing.

So i used these the Friday evening and I'm now typing this very late Monday night/Tues morning as it's nearly passed midnight eekk bed time lol.
Anyway here is my hair on Friday before my shower.

Yes a scary mess lol, recently i have tried a few shampoo's as you know when you use a certain brand that you love for years and then it just stops agreeing with your hair,so anyway yes this is where I'm at,once upon a time when i was in my late teens i used herbal essence but then they changed the packaging and formula and i hated it :(
so i then went onto using elvive by Loreal which was and is still my total fave, but recently it has been making my hair go greasy again withing like 2-3 days as before i could easy not wash my hair for 5 days,so that is why i look a bit sad above ha ha.

The shampoo is a clear colour and because it is organic it does state it might not foam up as much as a regular shampoo, although i found it to lather up just fine,OK maybe not as much as elvive but it did lather up well and i have mega thick hair too.It smelt divine.
After washing that off i applied the conditioner and left on for 5 mins while i shaved my legs as you do
{ if you are a lady reading this that is lol}
Again it smelt gorgeous and the melon was just so nice as i don't think i actually own anything melon but i love the smell.
Then i washed it off and towel dried my hair, and OK i know you are not meant to go to bed with wet hair but i did, well not wet but damp,so yes i let it dry natural.
Then these next photos were taken Sunday morning after i has straightened my hair,so no hairdryer has been used, also no products have been used either only my straighter.

First i tried to get a photo to show just how beautiful and soft and shiny it really was.
But with no flash it wasn't picking up the shine, time to turn the flash on Vinny,so now you can see how super soft and shiny it leaves it,and yes i did go  a bit selfie crazy lol,i can never seem to get photo's that i actually like,so i just end up taking loads hee hee.
So yes a bit selfie crazy lol,but i hope you can see by the many photos just how soft and shiny it left it and this is 2 days after washing it.
Now is Mon nr Tues and it is still not greasy, still soft and shiny and not itchy or anything,so after using the once i can say i would really recommend,OK i have not used for weeks but if my hair is still soft after 4 nr 5 days then I'm chuffed.

If you want to actually purchase any of these then they do have an offer on the Makeup Revolution website at the moment, buy one get one free which is great but be quick, the link is below as they do so many more, they even do a kids range, colour care or hair thickening range, you should go check it out for sure.
Link.......

Thanks so much to Makeup Revolution for sending me this blogger pr sample ♥

I do also have a Youtube beauty / style family channel if you want to go and subscribe the link is below, would be so happy if you did.
